Nutanix Discovery - getting SSL Errors on some rest calls but not on others.Issue When running the Nutanix Pattern we are seeing the following error: PKIX path building failed However we do not see this error throughout and some rest calls work Symptoms The pattern simply fails to create the CI Facts Certificates for the initial endpoint IP Address have ben imported into the mid server truststore. Release All Cause This happens because there are potentially different endpoint IP Addresses associated with the different API Endpoints, so when you run one rest call it may actually go to a different IP Address than another rest call. 1. In Step 6 of the Nutanix Pattern: We use the variable: $prism_url + (api path) $prism_url is created in a previous step.In debugging the pattern, $prism_url = https://<IP Address>:<Port> 2. In step 9 of the Nutanix Pattern: We use the variable (which can be an array of IPs): {prism_element}: 9440/(api path){prism element} is created in a previous stepIn debugging the pattern, {prism_element} = <IP Address1, IP Address2, etc>Thus the url being used is step 9 is: *could be multiple URLs if there are multiple IPs foundhttps://<IP Address1>:<Port>/(api_path) https://<IP Address2>:<Port>/(api_path) If none of the IP addresses in the {prism_element} array match the ip address from step 6 in the $prism_url variable, then it means that there is no certificate imported for the {prism_element} array of IP Addresses. ***In my case it was determined that one prism was working and others were not. The ones that were working shared an ip address between the two variables so it had a certifcate imported for both $prism_url and {prism_element} Resolution Create a certificate for any {prism_element} ip addresses that do not have a certificate and import them into the mid server truststore.
