Duplicate records being created in cmdb_ci_computer (Service Graph Connector)Issue ProblemDuplicate Configuration Item (CI) records were being created in the CMDB for two devices, with the same 'Name' and 'Serial Number' observed in the CMDB and Asset tables. The customer noted uncertainty about whether the source was Intune or Jamf. Release N/A Cause Root Cause1. The Intune integration created new CIs instead of updating existing ones because the staging records imported from Intune lacked serial numbers, and the device name on the original CI record had been spelled differently in the past. This caused the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) to fail in matching the incoming Intune data to the existing CI by name.2. The Jamf integration (SG-JAMF) was confirmed to be functioning correctly, as it identified the existing CI using the serial number in its payload and corrected the name of the original CI. Resolution Steps to Resolve1. Delete the newly created duplicate CIs to resolve the immediate issue.2. Request Intune to provide serial numbers from their external source to the instance, as serial numbers are a more reliable criterion for identifying CMDB records.3. Ensure the names of the original computer CIs are corrected to match the incoming data from Intune, as mismatched names in the past prevented proper identification by the IRE.
