How to Identify Knowledge Base Articles Used by Virtual Agent in Microsoft Teams Conversation Issue ProblemDuring a conversation with the Virtual Agent via Microsoft Teams, after the first prompt, the Virtual Agent suggested a workaround for the end user's problem using content from knowledge base articles. The user wants to know how to identify which knowledge base articles were used to generate the Virtual Agent's answer. Release n/a Cause Root CauseThe Virtual Agent responses in Microsoft Teams typically display knowledge article sources as numbered citations below the answer. However, sources may not appear due to the non-deterministic behavior of AI models, which is a known limitation. Additionally, if sources are missing, the configuration of the Virtual Agent may not explicitly require citation display, especially for custom agents. Resolution Steps to Resolve1. Open the same Microsoft Teams conversation record and verify the context profile display .2. Use above as search application to do a search Preview (new ) - with the same prompt user is doing.3. Verify the Knowledge articles being presented and their associated score.4. Based on the conversation record, copy the conversation ID and search the assoicated generative ai logs ( sys_generative_ai_log).5. Check the response column for "documents", you will get an ID, verify with the KB found in the search preview.
