Change Request Closes Without Close Code When Custom UI Policy Overrides Mandatory ValidationIssue When a Change Request transitions to Closed state, the system permits closing the record with only the Close Notes field populated. The Close Code field does not display as mandatory and can be left empty. Reproduced Steps: Open a Change Request record.Perform close operation.Enter Close Notes only; leave Close Code empty.Submit the record — no validation error occurs. Facts The following OOB UI Policy set mandatory for both fieldsMandatory - Close notes and code when in Closed statehttps://<instance-name>.service-now.com/sys_ui_policy.do?sys_id=e7dc75a3cb900200d71cb9c0c24c9ca3 Release All Cause A custom UI Policy (order 9999+) executes after the OOB policy "Mandatory - Close notes and code when in Closed state" and calls g_form.setMandatory(fieldName, false) on all form fields. This removes the mandatory flag set by the OOB policy. Resolution Fix: Disable the custom UI Policy or exclude Close Code and Close Notes from the mandatory-removal logic.
