CSM Time Worked Records Not Creating Time Card After PatchIssue When a user creates a Time Worked record from a CSM Case using the Record Time feature, the task_time_worked record is created successfully but no corresponding time_card record is generated. The Time Card field on the Time Worked record remains blank. The OOB Business Rule "Update time card for TimeRecording" (table: task_time_worked, runs After Insert/Update/Delete) is active, but Time Cards are still not created. Steps to Reproduce Log in as a user with the sn_customerservice_agent roleNavigate to a CSM CaseClick Record Time and fill in the time detailsSubmit the Time Worked recordCheck the related lists — Time Worked entry exists but the Time Card list is empty Symptoms task_time_worked record is created successfullyNo time_card record is created or linkedThe Time Card field on the Time Worked record remains blankOOB Business Rule "Update time card for TimeRecording" is active but does not fire as expected Release Affects patched ServiceNow instances with the CSM Time Recording plugin (com.snc.csm_time_recording) active. The same defect also affects FSM Time Recording (com.snc.time_recording_fsm) on patched instances. Cause A platform patch applied a Security Directive modification to the TimeRecordingHelper Script Include. The change replaced the direct getRefRecord() method with a new getTaskRecord() function inside taskEnabledForTimeRecording. The new function does not return a valid case record when the Business Rule condition check executes, causing the rule to exit early without creating the Time Card. This is a confirmed platform defect (PRB2081978) affecting both CSM and FSM Time Recording flows on patched instances. Resolution Apply the following workaround by updating the TimeRecordingHelper Script Include: Navigate to System Definition > Script Includes and search for TimeRecordingHelperOpen the record (sys_id: 55847e57d7340300811300285e6103e0)Replace the taskEnabledForTimeRecording function with the code belowSave the recordTest by creating a new Time Worked entry on a CSM Case — a Time Card should now be created and linked automatically TimeRecordingHelper.taskEnabledForTimeRecording = function(timeWorked) { // checking if enabled for fsm if (new GlidePluginManager().isActive('com.snc.time_recording_fsm') && gs.hasRole("wm_read")) { if (timeWorked.task.nil()) return true; var taskGR = new TimeRecordingHelper().getTaskRecord(timeWorked.task); var taskTableName = taskGR.getTableName(); if (new global.SMUtils().isWMTaskOrChildOfWMTask(taskTableName) || taskTableName == 'wm_order') return true; } // checking if enabled for csm if (new GlidePluginManager().isActive('com.snc.csm_time_recording') && gs.hasRole("sn_customerservice_agent")) { if (timeWorked.task.nil()) return true; var taskCaseGR = new TimeRecordingHelper().getTaskRecord(timeWorked.task); var caseTableName = taskCaseGR.getTableName(); if (isExtension('sn_customerservice_case', caseTableName) || isExtension('sn_customerservice_task', caseTableName)) return true; } return false; }; Note: A permanent fix is being tracked under PRB2081978 and will be released in a future patch, at which point this workaround can be reverted.
