Flow Designer PowerShell action returns 401 error with password data pill Issue : After upgrading to the Australia release, Flow Designer actions that runs PowerShell scripts on a MID Server return a 401 Unauthorized error when the password from basic_auth_credentials is passed through a data pill. However, authentication succeeds when the same password is entered directly in the input field.Symptoms :- Occurs when password data pills (Password2 data type) from basic_auth_credentials records are passed as input to PowerShell actions. - Issue begins after upgrading to Australia Patch 1 or later releases. Cause : In Australia release, password value is appended with quote characters (") at the start and end. When this password string is passed to a PowerShell script that runs on a MID Server, the quotes are treated as literal characters in the password string, causing authentication to fail with a 401 error. Hardcoded passwords do not have this issue because they bypass the data pill processing that adds the extra characters. Resolution : Update your PowerShell script to strip the quote characters from the password variable before using it for authentication. In your PowerShell action, locate the line where you use the password variable for authentication.Add this line immediately before using the password (after retrieving it from the input variable, but before passing it to the authentication call): $Password = $Password.Trim('"');Use the cleaned $Password variable for your authentication call. The action runs successfully as expected.
