Data transfer between the custom tab and the main ServiceNow app is controlled by any applied Intune app protection policies. Some configurations of Intune app protection policies will not allow the necessary data to flow between the app and the custom tab and will result in the user being redirected to the Play Store. There are two approaches to resolve this while keeping this setting. ApproachResulting UX Approach 1: Configure authentication to happen in the Edge browser, which is a policy-managed app. This requires the user to install Edge on their device. Use an app configuration policy to set the default authentication browser for Android to Edge. Then, list Microsoft Edge as a public app in the applied app protection policy. Approach 2: Allow data transfer to Chrome (the custom tab) even though it's not a policy-managed app. This allows the login flow to appear to be all within the ServiceNow app but does not maintain the security of only allowing data transfer to policy-managed apps. Case 2: User is redirected to Play Store listing for Edge, though it is already installed This can occur when "Send org data to other apps" is set to "Policy managed apps" and the default authentication browser for Android has been configured to be Edge using an App Configuration Policy, but Edge is not listed as managed app in the App Protection Policy. Make sure Edge is listed in the "public apps" section of the App Protection Policy. Whenever a change is made to an Intune configuration, it can take a long time (hours) for the change to be applied to the device. To make sure you have the latest policies, delete the company portal and the ServiceNow app and other intune apps from the device (include microsoft apps like Edge) and then reinstall them. You can try opening Company Portal > hamburger icon (three bars in the top left corner) > Settings > Sync, then wait a few minutes, but this is not guaranteed to work.
