Reference fields populated via URL query parameters appear blank on new records in WorkspaceIssue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } When creating a child record from a related list in Service Operations Workspace (SOW) or Next Experience (for example, creating a Change Task Template from a Standard Change Proposal, or creating a CAB Meeting from a CAB Definition), the parent reference field does not populate and remains empty. This can cause child record forms to render as read-only or fail subsequent parent-dependent access checks. This behavior does not occur in the Classic UI (UI16), where the parent reference field populates normally from URL parameters. By default (OOB), this property is set to false. When set to true, the platform enforces field-level Write Access Control Lists (ACLs) against all fields being populated via the URL query parameters (/params/query/) during new record initialization. If a reference field has a restrictive Write ACL (such as an out-of-the-box Write ACL requiring the nobody role to prevent re-parenting), the platform evaluates write access as denied and drops the parameter, preventing the field from populating on form load.
