Copying, Pasting, or Dragging Images into a Workspace Article Creates a Long Base64-Encoded URLIssue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } When editing Knowledge Articles in Workspace, copying, pasting, or dragging and dropping images into the Enhanced Content Editor may result in long Base64-encoded strings appearing in the HTML source, including after clicking the Cancel button on an image block. As a result, a long string of encoded characters is stored in the HTML source. Additionally, if the Cancel button is selected after an image has been inserted in this manner, long URL-like strings or random binary characters may still be visible in the HTML source. This scenario was not specifically considered in the original design and is currently a side effect of the implementation. Resolution<!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } The behaviour is working as designed. The Enhanced Content Editor (ECE) handles images inserted through drag-and-drop or copy/paste by embedding them as inline Data URLs (Base64-encoded content). While this allows images to be displayed immediately in the editor, it can significantly increase the size of the article content and result in very long strings appearing in the HTML source. For optimal performance and faster page loading, use an Image block from the editor side panel and upload the image through the block instead of dragging, dropping, or pasting the image directly into the editor. Changing this behaviour would require consideration as a product enhancement request. There is currently no supported method to disable drag-and-drop or copy/paste image insertion in the Enhanced Content Editor. If required, the Enhanced Content Editor can be disabled, which reverts the editing experience to the legacy TinyMCE editor. Even if there were an option to disable the image block containing the Cancel button, images inserted through drag-and-drop would still be embedded as Base64-encoded Data URLs and the encoded strings would continue to appear in the HTML source.
