GlideForm showFieldMsg() Does Not Render HTML or Hyperlinks, While addInfoMessage() DoesIssue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } Developers attempting to include a hyperlink or other HTML markup (such as <a> or <br>) inside a message displayed with g_form.showFieldMsg(field, message, type, scrollForm) find that the HTML tags are rendered as plain text on the form, rather than being interpreted as HTML. The link does not become clickable, and the raw tag characters are visible to the end user.By contrast, the same HTML passed to g_form.addInfoMessage(message) or g_form.addErrorMessage(message) renders correctly, with the link appearing as a clickable element. The showFieldMsg() API is documented only to display plain-text informational, warning, or error messages directly below a specified field. It is not documented to support HTML content of any kind. The message content passed to showFieldMsg() is HTML-encoded before being written to the DOM, which is why any markup appears as escaped, literal text rather than being parsed as HTML. This also means showFieldMsg() does not support other HTML formatting such as <br> line breaks, so multi-line messages are not possible through this method either. addInfoMessage() and addErrorMessage() are designed for form-level messages and do not apply the same encoding, so HTML content, including hyperlinks, renders as expected.
