However, this does not mean the credentials are transmitted in plain text over the network. Per AWS documentation: HTTPS establishes a TLS-encrypted session before sensitive authentication information is transmitted.The username and password are protected by TLS encryption.Amazon SNS does not provide support for OAuth or custom HTTP Authorization headers when sending HTTPS notifications. Because the authentication mechanism is implemented by Amazon SNS, ServiceNow cannot configure SNS to send credentials using an alternate authentication method. To improve security, ServiceNow recommends: Use HTTPS for all SNS subscriptions.Create a dedicated ServiceNow integration account for Cloud Events.Grant only the minimum roles and permissions required for the integration.Do not reuse administrative or personal user accounts.Rotate the integration account password according to organizational security policies. If OAuth, token-based authentication, or custom HTTP Authorization headers are required, these capabilities are not currently supported by Amazon SNS HTTPS subscriptions. Customers wishing to request additional authentication methods should submit an enhancement request through the ServiceNow Idea Portal.
