The logs contained the message: This script contains malicious content and has been blocked by your antivirus software. Immediately after this message, the PowerShell process terminated, resulting in a PowerConsoleTerminatedException and causing Discovery classification to fail. As a result, Windows devices could not be successfully classified or discovered. The logs contained the following message: This script contains malicious content and has been blocked by your antivirus software. Following this message, the PowerShell process terminated unexpectedly, resulting in a PowerConsoleTerminatedException and the Discovery error: PowerConsole session was lost while executing command To resolve the issue: Review antivirus, Microsoft Defender, EDR, or other endpoint security logs on the MID Server host.Verify whether ServiceNow Discovery PowerShell scripts or modules are being blocked, quarantined, or terminated during execution.Work with the Security team to create the necessary exclusions or allowlisting for approved ServiceNow MID Server PowerShell components.Ensure the MID Server PowerShell framework can execute without interference from security controls.Restart the MID Server if required after making the security policy changes.Re-run Discovery and confirm that the Windows devices are successfully classified and discovered. Once the security software no longer blocks the ServiceNow Discovery PowerShell scripts, Discovery should proceed past the Windows - Classify phase and complete successfully.
