These are manually selectable substatus values. No special business rules or script includes directly set these values automatically; they are choice list options presented to the user when an asset's State is "In use" (or "In stock" for in_repair). They participate in: Life Cycle Stage framework:When a user sets the substatus, the life_cycle_mapping records automatically map to the correct Life Cycle Stage / Stage Status (e.g., "Operational" / "In Repair").Asset↔CI state sync:The state mapping tables ensure the linked CI's status stays in sync when these substatuses are set.
