Service Exchange rejects a second virtual transform map on the same field and advanced transform script does not fire for custom provider tablesIssue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } In a Service Exchange connection, you cannot assign both a virtual inbound and a virtual outbound transform map to the same named field (for instance, "State")—the system will reject the second as a duplicate. If you try to use an advanced transform map instead to enable two-way synchronization, the provider field dropdown fails to populate, and the script does not run. Cause<!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } This behavior is intentional and stems from two distinct out-of-the-box (OOB) limitations in Service Exchange.Firstly, the platform prohibits creating both a virtual inbound and a virtual outbound transform map for the same provider table and company. Since a single-source message is intended to generate a single target entry, allowing two maps on the same named field would compromise the uniqueness and correlation the framework depends on.Consequently, any attempt to define both directions on the same field is rejected with a duplicate transform error. Secondly, the advanced transform feature requires the provider table definition to be present on the consumer side to populate the field selector in the UI. When the provider table is a custom table not defined on the consumer instance, the UI cannot list the provider fields, rendering the map inaccessible through the interface.Even when the map is constructed via a background script, the transform will not activate if the script references the unavailable 'current' object instead of the supported 'input', 'output', and 'object_data' parameters. Resolution<!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } There is no OOB configuration that fully achieves this two-way sync today. Use the following to correct a non-firing advanced transform script for a custom provider table. This addresses only the scripting behavior; it does not remove the duplicate-map restriction. Confirm the inbound Service Bridge user has the 'sn_sb.admin' role. - The journal-access warning noted in Symptoms appears when this role is missing.2. Enable Service Bridge logging by setting the Service Bridge logging property to 'true'. - This lets you confirm from the logs whether the transform script is invoked.3. Open the advanced transform script for the field and remove any reference to the 'current' object. - The 'current' object is not available in this context and prevents the script from running.4. Rewrite the script to use only the supported parameters: 'input', 'output', and 'object_data'.5. Access parent record field values through 'object_data.parent' where you need data from the parent task.6. Add a logging statement inside the script. - Use this to verify the script is reached during both record creation and record update.7. Run a test exchange and check the logs for your logging statement. - If the statement appears, the script is firing and you can validate the mapped values; if it does not appear, the map is still not bound correctly to the field. For the duplicate-map restriction (both directions on one named field), there is no supported workaround. A single named field supports one virtual map direction OOB.
