Prior to Australia, the Attachment REST API did not have dedicated per-operation endpoint ACLs. Access was primarily governed by authentication and the underlying attachment/table ACLs. Beginning with Australia, ServiceNow introduced a new set of REST_Endpoint ACLs for the Attachment REST API. These ACLs perform authorization at the REST endpoint level before the request reaches the API implementation. Separate ACLs now exist for each HTTP operation, including: EndpointHTTP Operation/api/now/attachment/{sys_id}GET/api/now/attachment/{sys_id}DELETE/api/now/attachment/{sys_id}PATCH/api/now/attachment/uploadPOST/api/now/attachment/{sys_id}/fileGET As a result, requests that were previously permitted may now fail if the requesting user does not satisfy the newly introduced endpoint ACL. This follows the new security model introduced in Australia and requires no platform customization. Option 2 If external users must be allowed to delete attachments, create a custom REST_Endpoint ACL that grants the required access to the appropriate external role(s). Please review the security implications before broadening access to attachment deletion.!
