Its responsibility is to: Discover AKS clustersCreate Kubernetes cluster recordsCreate Serverless Discovery Schedules The actual namespace collection occurs later through the Kubernetes pattern. However, the Create Kubernetes Cluster Schedule post-sensor does not evaluate all matching Serverless patterns. When the schedule creation logic locates a matching Kubernetes pattern for the cluster that already has an associated schedule, it does not continue searching for additional unassociated patterns. As a result: New Pattern + No Associated Schedule = Schedule Not Created because another matching pattern already contained a schedule association. Result The newly created Serverless Pattern was never selected. No new Serverless Discovery Schedule was generated. Cause 2: Incorrect Azure Service Principal After resolving the pattern association issue, namespace discovery still failed. The Kubernetes Namespace library attempted: HTTP GET /api/v1/namespaces but AKS returned: 403 Forbidden with: User "<GUID>" cannot list resource "namespaces" Investigation determined that: <GUID> was not: A Kubernetes userA Kubernetes service accountA MID Server accountA ServiceNow user The GUID was actually the: Microsoft Entra ID Object ID associated with the Azure Service Principal being used by Discovery. The Service Principal belonged to an identity that the customer could not administer and did not have sufficient AKS permissions to enumerate namespaces. Step 2 Create a new Azure Cloud Service Account in ServiceNow using the new Service Principal. Step 3 Create a new Cloud Resources Discovery Schedule using the new Azure Service Principal. Step 4 Remove obsolete Kubernetes Serverless Patterns associated with the old Azure identity. Step 5 Delete obsolete Serverless Discovery Schedules associated with those patterns. Step 6 Remove the old Cloud Resources Schedule tied to the incorrect Service Principal. Step 7 Leave only a single valid Kubernetes Serverless Pattern for the target cluster. Step 8 Run the new Azure Cloud Discovery Schedule. When: Azure - Get Kubernetes Clusters executes, it identifies the unassociated Serverless Pattern and successfully creates a new Serverless Discovery Schedule. Step 9 Execute the newly created Serverless Discovery Schedule. The schedule now authenticates using the new Azure Service Principal. The Kubernetes Namespace library successfully executes: HTTP GET /api/v1/namespaces and AKS returns namespace data. Step 10 Verify namespace records are populated in: cmdb_ci_kubernetes_namespace Validation Successful discovery should show: Pattern: Kubernetes followed by successful namespace API calls. Namespace records should be created/updated in: cmdb_ci_kubernetes_namespace No 403 errors should be present.
