Rather, it allows the definitions to be synced manually with the "Sync Definition" UI action. If new definitions were synced automatically, an untested change could easily be applied to a development instance and could cause unwanted changes to production data. You can set this property via the steps below: 1. Navigate to Service Exchange > Scan Engine Properties. 2. Check the box for "Enable definition synchronization". 3. This property is internally named 'allow_sync_definition'. If the Scan engine property 'allow_sync_definition' is disabled, then new Sync Definitions will not be synced with other instances. This property only matters for a development instance and controls the UI action "Sync Definition". Using the UI action will sync to all instances in the stack regardless of what this property is set to in other instances.
