The reverse also applies: changing another user's personal Language preference directly does not update their profile. The platform automatically keeps a user's profile Language and their personal Language preference in sync, but only when that user makes the change themselves while logged into their own account. This automatic synchronisation does not run when the change is made on someone else's behalf, for example by an administrator changing another user's record, or by an automated process such as a data import, integration, or bulk script updating many accounts at once. Because the user is changing their own account, the automatic synchronization runs and both places will match afterward.If contacting many users individually is not practical, a system administrator can write a script to set the matching personal Language preference record directly for each affected user, so both values line up without requiring action from each user. Test this in a non-production environment before running it against production.To prevent this from happening again, update whichever process currently sets the Language field for your users (for example a data import, integration, or bulk script) so it sets both the profile field and the personal Language preference together.
