Notification Trigger Issues Caused by Race ConditionsIssue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } Notifications may fail to trigger as expected when multiple conditions are evaluated simultaneously under the When to run configuration. This behavior is caused by a race condition in the notification evaluation process. A notification configured with Records inserted or updated does not trigger even though all expected conditions appear to be satisfied. Example: Notification is configured to trigger when: Assigned to changes, andAssignment group changes. If both field changes occur during the same transaction, the notification may not trigger as expected. When multiple conditions depend on field changes occurring within the same update, the first condition that is evaluated can trigger (or complete) the notification evaluation before the remaining condition has been fully evaluated. This creates a race condition, preventing the notification from validating all required field changes together. As a result, notifications cannot reliably evaluate multiple "changes" conditions on different fields within the same transaction. Resolution<!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } Instead of relying on notification conditions to evaluate multiple field changes simultaneously, use one of the following approaches: Option 1: Trigger the notification from Flow Designer (Recommended) Use a Flow Designer trigger to validate all required conditions first, add a wait condition. Once both conditions are confirmed, use the Trigger Notification action to send the notification. This approach ensures that all conditions are evaluated together before the notification is sent. Option 2: Use an Event-based Notification Create an event-based notification and trigger the event from a Business Rule. Within the Business Rule, validate that all required conditions are met before queuing the event. Example logic: Verify Assigned to has changed.Verify Assignment group has changed. If both conditions are true, queue the event.Configure the notification to listen for that event. This approach avoids the race condition because all validation is performed within the Business Rule before the notification is initiated.
