This occurs through the Widget Knowledge Article Content (sys_id: a47ea1cb0b9432004ce28ffe15673a5b), which calls the Script Include global.KBViewModelSNC (sys_id: aef116f1d73221004792a1737e6103a4) to perform the increment operation. Use count [use_count] Update: The counter is incremented when a knowledge article is attached to a record such as an Incident or Case. When attachment occurs, the Event kb.use is fired and processed by the Script Action Knowledge Use (sys_id: 2e174aaa0a0a0b5201bcccdcf661c41b), which increments the use_count field on the kb_knowledge record.
