This Business Rule is associated with problem record PRB1965533. The rule enforces the following validation on both insert and update operations: If the HR Service field (hr_service) is not empty, ANDThe HR Task Type (task_type) is not "HR Service" → The save operation is aborted and the error is returned. Because the rule fires on update as well as insert, any HR Task that already has the HR Service field populated — regardless of how it got there — will fail every subsequent save operation, including closure attempts. Common sources that cause the HR Service field to be populated on tasks where the task type is not "HR Service": HR Task Templates (sn_hr_core_template) configured with an HR Service value for a non-HR-Service task typeCustom Business Rules, Flows, or Scripts on sn_hr_core_task that automatically populate the HR Service field on insert or update This behavior is by design as of the Australia release. Once the field is empty, the OOB validation will no longer fire and the task can be saved and closed normally. If the task type should genuinely be "HR Service" for a given task, set the HR Task Type to "HR Service" instead of clearing the HR Service field. Prevent recurrence — audit HR Task Templates Review all HR Task Templates (sn_hr_core_template) to ensure no template has HR Service populated when the HR Task Type is not "HR Service." Navigation: HR Administration > Templates > HR Task Templates Filter: HR Service is not empty AND HR Task Type is not HR Service Remove the HR Service value from any template matching this condition. This prevents new tasks created from those templates from being born into the conflicting state.
