When an unauthenticated user logs in via SSO, the authentication completes successfully, but the first name field in the sys_user table is left empty or blank. This setting instructs ServiceNow to update the user record fields during every authentication event. The ServiceNow Transform Map "User Provisioning Transform Map" is mapped with a dummy field to write/update the first_name field on the sys_user table. You must configure the Transform Map "Field Mappings" for the imported attributes. Since the Transform Map is not configured to map the IDP fields, the field is being written as empty/null on each login, effectively deleting or clearing any previously stored value. To resolve this issue: Navigate to the Import Table created by the SSO: "Multi-provider SSO > Identity Provider > Open the IDP record expected to create/update the user Under "Related Links", select the "User Provisioning Transform Map" hyperlink (This brings you to the needed Transform Map)Under the field "Source Table" or in the "Script" field, you will see the name of your Import Table Enter the name of your Import Table in the Navigation Filter (ie - u_imp_saml_user_s9f522lawf.LIST) Use the "Personalize List" to add all fields coming in on the importReview the imported data in the fields and the field namesNavigate back to your Transform Map and use the "Field Maps" tab to map the data properly
