These are introduced when notification body content is drafted or edited in Microsoft Word or Outlook and then pasted into ServiceNow's rich text editor. Word uses tab stops for text alignment internally, which the ServiceNow editor converts into chains of entities on paste. ServiceNow's email preview and standard browser-based clients collapse consecutive sequences and render the text correctly. Microsoft Outlook, however, uses Word's rendering engine to display HTML emails, which treats each character literally — causing each character in the chain to render as a visible space, producing the gaps observed. To prevent recurrence: Author and edit all notification content directly within ServiceNow's rich text editor. If content must be pasted from an external source such as Word or Outlook, use the Paste as plain text option to strip hidden formatting characters before saving. Avoid using tab characters or manual spacing alignment in notification body content.
