Design rationale: This approach prevents unintended modifications to effort data that was already established in active work periods. Scenario 2: Extending End Date (New End Date > Current End Date) When you increase the end date of a task, the following behavior applies: New interval added: The newly extended time period does not automatically populate with hours—no hours are added or distributed to the new months. Existing periods: All months within the original date range maintain their current hour allocations unchanged. Design rationale: This mirrors Scenario 1 to protect existing effort baseline data from automatic redistribution. Two Options to Adjust Hours Once you've set the end date, you have two ways to modify effort: Modify total task effort → Hours are automatically distributed proportionally across all months in the date range Modify effort for a specific month → Only that month's allocation changes; other months remain unaffected
