For example, a Quality Control Engineer or Developer may have the need to allow the User Experience Analytics system to thus capture this data for testing application functionality and access or performance of a specific portal or Workspace. The current, default state of the instance is intentionally configured not to thus capture this data by default, as normally, the User Experience system is designed to capture the natural behavior and activity of actual users on an instance (and not impersonated user sessions). This is an intentional design decision. However, as mentioned previously, there may come the circumstance in which capturing of data may be a needed functionality. To this end, there is a method by which this functionality can be enabled within a ServiceNow instance (either permanently or temporarily). This System Property has the name "glide.appsee.consent.allow_impersonated", and should have the value "true" to thus allow impersonated accounts to thus capture information which will be factored into the calculations and data as used for the User Experience Analytics system. If the System Property is not found on the instance (giving it the default value of "false") or exists on the instance and is set to the explicit value of "false", impersonating a user account will not cause the system to capture User Experience data for that impersonated user session. However, if the System Property is found on the instance, and is set to a value of "true", an impersonated user account session will thus capture this data for use in the User Experience calculations. Thus, to enable this functionality a System Property with the name "glide.appsee.consent.allow_impersonated" and a Type setting of "true/fakse" should thus be added to the instance (if not already found there) and set to a value of "false", as shown in the following screenshot: Of course in the opposite scenario, if the instance is capturing this User Experience Analytics data for these impersonated sessions, and this should not be the case, this System Property can be removed from the instance or have the Value set to "false", which will then prevent this.
