The system calculates Work Start Time as Due Time minus Lead Days, causing both times to share the same hour by default (e.g., a due time of 11:00 PM results in a start time of 11:00 PM, not 8:00 AM). Work orders cannot be scheduled before the earliest valid start date. If the Window Start date has already passed, the system substitutes the current date and time. Planned work tasks do not automatically adjust for time zone differences across locations (e.g., a location that is ahead of the instance's base time zone). Scheduled work orders are generated without regard for holidays, potentially scheduling tasks on non-working days. Schedules can be manually configured to skip weekends and holidays but this is not automatic. Related known behavior: the "Populate Schedule - New SOT" business rule sets Window Start to the current date if the parent expected start is unavailable at task creation time. From the Utah release onward, the scheduled start field of a work order task is not auto-populated at creation. Workarounds include adjusting lead times to account for the offset. Time zone handling: Not supported OOB. Customization is required to ensure planned tasks align to local time zones across locations. As a workaround, lead times can be adjusted to compensate for time zone offsets. Holiday schedule consideration: Not supported universally OOB. Schedules can be manually configured to skip weekends and holidays, but this must be set up intentionally and does not apply automatically to all work order tasks. System property note: If scheduled start dates are not populating at task creation, review the system property work.management.default.scheduled.start. Setting this to true restores pre-Utah auto-population behavior (KB1404936).
