Amazon AWS Lambda - CI Pattern completed but failed some post-processing steps within IREIssue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } Duplicate AWS Lambda function records are being created and incorrectly reconciled in the CMDB due to the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) treating identifiers in a case-insensitive manner. Symptoms<!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } Steps to Reproduce: 1. Ingest AWS Lambda data via Discovery or IntegrationHub. 2. Ensure two Lambda functions exist with objectId / ARN values differing only by case. 3. Review the horizontal discovery logs. Observe duplicate payload entries (e.g., index 27 and 86). 4. Review CMDB results: IRE treats both records as identical due to case-insensitive matching. Post-processing failures occur in the AWS Lambda pattern. This behavior causes Lambda functions with objectId (ARN) values that differ only by letter casing (e.g., RawToRawArchival vs rawToRawArchival) to be identified as the same CI. As a result, duplicate payload entries are generated, which leads to post-processing failures in the AWS Lambda pattern. Update the CMDB Identification Rules for the cmdb_ci_cloud_function class to use a composite Identifier Entry instead of relying solely on "Object ID" (object_id) attribute. Example Identifier Entry for "Criterion attibutes" configuration: "Object ID" (object_id), "CodSha256" (codesha256) Important precaution:When implementing this change, the original Identifier Entry that uses only object_id must be set Active to "false". If the original Identifier Entry remains active: The IRE will match on the original Identifier Entry first. The IRE will not match on the more specific identifier entry: (object_id + codesha256). Reordering the rules will not resolve the issue. If a match fails on the more specific identifier entry, IRE will match on the more general original identifier entry. Rationale: IRE does not support case-sensitive comparisons, which reduces the uniqueness of ARN values.CodeSha256 provides a unique deployment fingerprint and ensures proper differentiation.Using objectId + CodeSha256 prevents false deduplication caused by case normalization.Disabling (Active to false) the original rule entry ensures the preferred identification criteria is applied.
