Since the issue is with linux servers the responsible probe is Package Munger. The way how we fetch OS install is different from normal software installs.for normal softwares we just run below command: (rpm -q -a --qf 'Package: %{NAME}\nStatus: install ok installed\nMaintainer: %{VENDOR}\nVersion: %{VERSION}\nRelease: %{RELEASE}\n') Below is how it works for OS software.(Ex : Linux Red Hat) 1.The sensor fetches the os and os_version from the Linux Server then builds cmdb_sw_spkg data ,then calls DiscoveryReconciler to reconcile the data, this will eventually calls backend logic which checks to see if SAM is enabled, if it is then create cmdb_sam_sw_install from the cmdb_sw_spkg data2.Since there is an error in the SW Install payload, we won't be generating SW Install for the OS.Software Install for OS is not discovered, it's manually created from the main host provided that the probe is working. If there is proper payload with no errors, then sensor logic will pull up the main host and it's OS and OS Version and create a SW install data entry then call addToRelatedList() which further logic downstream will persist related data into cmdb_sam_sw_install afterwards.3.Since there is an error with permission we are not getting this information. We run 'scp' to copy the script to target host to execute.4.non working server: ecc input for package munger<results error="ksh: scp: cannot execute [Permission denied] " probe_time="21" result_code="52"><result error="ksh: scp: cannot execute [Permission denied] "/><parameters><parameter name="mid_selector_details" value="{"mode":"specific_mid"}"/><parameter name="agent" value="mid.server.CMDB_PCL_PROD_MID_3"/>5.We get software installations from package munger probe for linux. we see that is failing with permission denied error. hence unable to being the redhat details. 6.SCP is blocked in the environment for vulnerability.hence it is failing.upon setting mid server property to use SFTP instead of SCP issue got resolved.
