Difference in end-of-conversation behavior between Service Portal and Microsoft TeamsIssue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } When a user submits an incident through the Service Portal, the AI Agent finalises the process and then asks the user:"Do you need any other assistance?" When the identical process to create an incident is carried out via Microsoft Teams, the AI Agent concludes the interaction by saying:"Thanks" and then terminates the conversation. Enhanced Chat provides a persistent, multi-session chat experience within the ServiceNow portal, where conversations remain active, and the chat window stays open. In contrast, MS Teams and almost all other external channels are "Standard Chat" experiences because they use a single conversation thread. It does not maintain a persistent chat window or session state in the same way, so conversations behave more like standard message threads rather than an always-open chat experience. This is a crucial differentiator when it comes to Notifications. In Standard Chat, actionable notifications are delivered only if there is no active conversation for that user. So, if we always keep the conversation open, the user will never receive any notifications.
