Employee Center portal bell icon notifications redirect to a non-existent page when the portal URL suffix has been customizedIssue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } Clicking the bell icon (notification button) in the top-right corner of the Employee Center portal opens a notification whose action URL points to a non-existent page. The user is redirected to a 404 / page-not-found result instead of the intended target record. This affects Employee Center portal instances where the portal URL suffix has been changed from its default value. When the Employee Center portal URL suffix has been customized to a non-default value, the action URL embedded in the notification still references /esc/…, which no longer resolves to a valid portal page on the instance. This is expected behavior — the notification content settings do not automatically follow customizations made to the portal URL suffix. In the ServiceNow platform UI, navigate to Portal Notification Content Settings (the configuration record for portal notification action URLs).Open each notification content record whose action URL contains the /esc/ path segment. In the action URL, replace esc with the actual portal URL suffix configured on the instance (for example, sp).Save the record.Trigger a new notification (or wait for one to be generated naturally) and confirm that the bell icon now navigates to the correct page. The updated action URL applies only to newly generated notifications created after the configuration change. Notifications that already exist in the system were generated with the previous (incorrect) URL and will continue to point to the non-existent page. They are not retroactively updated.
