The function instantiates a GlideRecordSecure for each candidate table and immediately calls canRead() without first loading a record — i.e., it is performing a table-level accessibility check using a recordless GlideRecordSecure instance. The kb_knowledge table can have multiple script-based read ACLs (Global scope, HR Core scope, Employee Center Core scope) whose conditions reference the current record (e.g., current.kb_knowledge_base.kb_version, KBKnowledge.canRead(current), canReadArticle(current)). Because the ACL scripts cannot evaluate without a valid current record, every ACL fails closed, and canRead() returns false. As a result, the table is excluded from the picker. A secondary contributing factor exists in _addAccessibilityFilter (also in AIStudioUtils): the accessibility filter checks for tables where access = 'public' OR access = ''. In MariaDB, NULL != '', so tables where the access field on sys_db_object was never explicitly set (NULL) are excluded.
