Users with the `sn_vul.remediation_owner` role are unable to associate change request with Vulnerable items after upgrading the instance to ZurichIssue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } After upgrading the ServiceNow instance to Zurich, users with the `sn_vul.remediation_owner` role encountered an issue when creating or adding a change request from a remediation task. While the remediation task would correctly link to the change, the associated vulnerable items (VITs) would not be added to the change's `sn_vul_m2m_item_task` table. This functionality worked correctly for users with admin rights and in the previous release (Yokohama). Specifically, the `addVulnerableItemToTask` function, which is called when linking vulnerable items to a change, was updated to use the `GlideRecordSecure` API instead of `GlideRecord`. This change enforces Access Control List (ACL) rules more strictly. The default write ACL on the `sn_vul_m2m_item_task` table did not grant write access to users with only the `sn_vul.remediation_owner` role, which prevented the script from creating the necessary records for non-admin users. A successful workaround is to modify the default write ACL on the `sn_vul_m2m_item_task` table to grant write permissions to the `sn_vul.remediation_owner` role. This change allows the `GlideRecordSecure` API call to succeed and correctly links the vulnerable items to the change request.
