It reads from a separate metadata cache table — sn_cmdb_ws_group_query_metadata — which stores pre-computed query result records for each group. Over time, stale records accumulate in this table without being purged. When the widget queries the metadata table, it returns both the current active record and the orphaned historical record(s), causing duplicate counts to appear for the same group in the UI. The group definition itself is correct — the duplication is in the metadata layer, not the group configuration. Confirm they correspond to the affected group(s). Step 2 — Assess scope before deleting Before bulk-deleting, confirm whether the stale records are limited to the affected group or span multiple groups. This determines the blast radius of the delete operation. Step 3 — Delete stale records Delete all records returned by the query in Step 1. Once removed, the metadata table will contain only the current active record per group, and the widget will display a single accurate count. Step 4 — Verify Reload the CMDB Workspace and confirm the CI Overview widget now shows a single count for the previously affected group(s).
