The default connection record exists in a blank/draft state after installation, which may suggest it should be left in place and a fresh connection created instead. This is not the case. The default connection record is a required anchor for the connector's data pipeline. Populating it with connection details is the correct and expected configuration action. Creating a separate connection in its place disconnects the configuration from the out-of-the-box data sources and import schedules, and will cause those artefacts to be missed during future connector upgrades.
