SSO fails intermittently and users gets redirected to not_allowed.doIssue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } We have encountered a recurring issue where, after weeks or months of successful SSO logins, ServiceNow randomly blocks user logins with a Not-allowed.do? UI page. Logging in with a local admin or an existing SSO token, then testing and activating the connection in the Microsoft Azure Federated Single Sign-on configuration for CDW, resolves the issue. Please help us identify the cause and fix it. Our development team has identified and clarified that there are specifically two main reasons why users will be redirected to the "not_allowed.do" page during the authentication process. 1) isValidURL: This check ensures that the sysparm_url parameter provided in the auth_redirect request is valid. In other words, the URL must contain the value of the Identity Provider (IdP) URL, and this value must also be present and correctly configured in the corresponding IdP record within the system. If this condition is not met, the URL is considered invalid, triggering the redirection.2) isSafeURL: This validation step checks the sysparm_url for any unsafe characters or characters that are not permitted within the URL. If the URL contains such unsafe or disallowed characters, the system will prevent access by redirecting the user to the "not_allowed.do" page to maintain security and integrity.
