When the Guided Setup has not been fully completed, the "Configure the View" step has been skipped so the viewId parameter is sent as an empty value in the API URL: /plugin/products/asset/v1/assets?minimumAssetId=1&viewId=&limit=50 The Tanium API requires a valid View ID. When it receives an empty value, it returns an HTTP 400 with a RequestValidationError response, and the import set is cancelled. This happens when the scheduled import is enabled before the Guided Setup tasks have been completed in order. The "Configure the View" step is where a Tanium Asset view ID gets linked into the connector configuration, and if it was never executed, API call sent has blank viewId. You can confirm this by checking the outbound HTTP log (sys_outbound_http_log) for the failed import , look at the endpoint URL and verify whether the viewId parameter is empty. If only the authentication step has been completed, the remaining steps need to be finished in order. 2. Complete the Guided Setup tasks in order : Configure the Token Auth Credentials: Verify that the Tanium base URL and API token are correct in the connection alias. Test the Connection: Click "Configure" on this step in the Guided Setup and confirm you receive an HTTP 200 response. Configure the View: This is the critical step. The Tanium Asset view must already exist in your Tanium environment before you can reference it here. Enter the valid View ID from your Tanium instance into the connector configuration. 3. Regarding the custom view , this view is not created on the ServiceNow side. It must be configured directly within the Tanium Asset module. To create or verify the view, log into your Tanium console and navigate to Modules > Asset > Views. The SGC integration pulls data from Tanium via this view, so it must exist in Tanium before ServiceNow can consume it. If access to the Tanium Asset module is managed by a tanium admin team, coordinate with your Tanium administrator to confirm the required view exists and obtain its View ID. 4. Once all Guided Setup steps are completed and the connection test passes with HTTP 200, re-run the scheduled import. The connector will now send a valid viewId in each API call, and the import should proceed normally.
