To better explain the concept of "utilizing flattened values", the variables inside of a given variable set behave as if they are directly on the Catalog Item, instead of being grouped/nested. An example of “non-flattened” would be if there was a Variable Set called “Employee Info” with the below variables inside:First Name, Last Name, and Start Date If this Variable Set was NOT flattened, then in scripts or data an end user would access like this:variables.employee_info.first_namevariables.employee_info.last_name An example of how it works in reality (the “flattened” concept) is like this:variables.first_namevariables.last_name So, to restate in a slightly different way, the system says:“Ignore the container (variable set), just treat these as top-level variables, as if they're on the Catalog Item itself (vs. embedded into a variable set)”
