This is the preferred option, as it does not require changing the out-of-the-box business rule. Option 2: Clear the “Assign to” field in the “Abort changes on group“ business rule as below. Modifying the out-of-the-box business rule is not recommended. Instead, create a new business rule, apply the customisation, and then deactivate the out-of-the-box business rule. 1. Navigate to System Definition > Business Rules > Search Name: Abort changes on group 2. To see the out-of-the-box business rule, open one of the records. For instance, open the record that the table is "Incident [incident]". 3. Click New to create a new business rule and add the information similar to "Abort changes on group" business rule: Example: Name: Abort changes on group (custom) Application: Global Table: Incident [incident] Active and Advanced enabled. When to run: before Insert and Update Conditions: Assigned To | is not empty Assignment group | changes Assignment group | is not empty 4. In the "Advanced" tab, copy the script from step 2 and replace gs.addErrorMessage(gs.getMessage("Assigned to user {0} must be member of Assignment group {1} ",[assigned_to.getDisplayValue(),assignment_group.getDisplayValue()])); current.setAbortAction(true); with current.assigned_to = ''; 5. Disable the out-of-the-box business rule in step 2 (Abort changes on group). Note: Thoroughly check and test this in the sub-product environment before applying to production. After checking and confirming the behaviour, the same information can be applied to this Business Rule for other tables, such as sc_task.
