The user record is still present in the system but marked as inactive, so the authorship information is preserved and visible directly on the article. Scenario 2 — User has been deleted from the system If the user's account has been fully deleted, the Author field will appear empty. In this case, authorship can still be determined by checking the record history of the Knowledge Article, where the User ID of the user who published the article will be retained in the audit log. Best Practice: To preserve authorship traceability, it is recommended to deactivate user accounts rather than delete them, particularly for users who have authored or contributed to Knowledge Articles.
