I.e.: The platform assumes that we're passing in display values and tries to retrieve their sys_ids. By using setValue() we're instructing the platform to accept the sys_ids as plain sys_id's without attempting to match against the reference tables' display value. Any necessary matches (sys_id to display value) will be performed at display time.
