Issue manifests itself as Tenable administrators realizing that open vulnerabilities (TEN-XXXXX records)exist in Tenable for assets that do NOT exist in VR's VIT records for the assets in question. For example, the Tenable admin may have run a query in Tenable that reveals an open vulnerability against an F5 device asset. When they then query VR to find this vulnerability, they find no VIT and Vulnerability ID record that matches the Tenable query results; that is unexpected behavior as their should be parity between both systems. If you are unable to resolve the issue following that KB, please note that the cause of the issue may be related to customizations in the customer instance. Second, it is possible that this type of issue may be caused by custom Business Rules that may be preventing the insert of the VR IT record or deleting the VR VIT record that maps to the Tenable open vulnerability record of interest. Enable Business Rule debugging in the logs to reproduce the issue and confirm if custom Business Rules are firing during a VR Integration Run. Alternatively, you can perform a manual review of Business Rules that are deleting records for specific CMDB classes. In certain cases, CMDB classes such as "DNS Name" may be prevented from existing in the customer's CMDB because they map to multiple IP addresses and/or multiple hostnames; this is not OOB behavior and customer's may have legitimate reasons for implementing such custom Business Rules. Temporarily disabling the BR should prove the root cause of the issue. Afterwards, customers can be advised to review their customizations to ensure it doesn't interfere with VR out-of-box functionality when creating VITs for their Tenable assets.
