By far the most common cause of this in clones is because MFA is enabled on the target instance. Thus, the name and password that is used may be correct, but since the system is attempting to perform a secondary authentication in accessing that instance, it fails. The cloning system cannot thus provide this authentication code and then the authentication itself fails. To fix this, you may temporarily disable the MFA option as found on the target instance. 2. Another potential failure point is when SSO is enabled on the instance. SSO can still be enabled, however the account that is used to try to authenticate with must be a local account and not be configured to attempt to retrieve the login credentials from an Ldap server or other SSO system. To correct this, create a new local only account and set it's password. You can then use that account to attempt to connect to the target instance. 3. The account found on the target instance to clone the instances does not have the admin and/or clone_admin role, which is required for access. To fix this issue, you would add the admin and clone_admin role to the user account and then use that account to authenticate to that target instance in creating the Clone Target record and scheduling the Clone. The key is to ensure that the account that you are using is NOT configured to use MFA or SSO, as the system cannot authenticate through these options. You can also temporarily disable these options on the target instance, as the clone will overwrite these options anyway during the clone.
