The issue is primarily with the column's availability in the HAM Workspace.

The field is available when inspecting through classic UI/ list view on the Asset record The Configuration Item field on alm_hardware references the base class cmdb_ci. The Operating System attribute exists only on the cmdb_ci_computer subclass.

Workspace column configuration currently does not resolve subclass-specific fields when the reference is declared at the base class level. This is expected behaviour .
