Even though they could read the base table, the dot-walked fields in the report were empty because the ACL for the referenced table blocked access. Even if the user has base table read-ACL, missing or restrictive ACLs on referenced tables or dot-walked fields may block display of those fields in reports. Also, if “report_view” ACLs exist (table or field level), they may block data display in reports, even if normal table/list views work. If the child table belongs to a different scope, the report engine evaluates ACLs for that child table separately. Having ACL access to the base table does not automatically grant access to fields in a child table from another scope. ACLs for child table is necessary in this case.
