I checked on the issue and found that on the Platform View(Default view) it is a Description field which is Normal Multiline text field.Whereas on the Agent workspace it is a Rich Description which is a HTML Text field. If you would like to update the Description then you have to update Rich Description Field as well. There is a OOB BR "Sync Description with Rich Description" which updates the description not the Rich Description. We recommend you to use the Rich Description on both the view as "description" will be deprecated in future for HR.
