There are two types of ACLs involved in this phenomenon: Allow-if type ACLDeny-Unless type ACL You are probably familiar with Allow-if type ACLs as they are commonly used. The mechanism works by evaluating defined conditions, and if the conditions are met, it allows access to the requested resource. If the conditions are not met, permission is not granted and the process proceeds to the next step. If there is no ACL that grants permission at the end, access to the resource is restricted. In contrast, a Deny-Unless type ACL evaluates the defined conditions and denies access to the requested resource if the conditions are not met. If the conditions are met, access is not granted and the process proceeds to the next step. [Important] Deny-Unless type ACLs do not grant access, so similar to Allow-if, if there is no ACL that grants access at the end, access will be restricted even if the Deny-Unless conditions are met. In other words, when using Deny-Unless, at least one Allow-If type ACL is required. Note that Deny-Unless type ACLs are evaluated before Allow-If type ACLs.
