When a sysapproval_approver record is generated, the system checks for active delegation rules that match and stamps the delegate into the record if applicable. Approval records created before a granular delegation rule was configured are not updated retroactively. The system does not modify previously created sysapproval_approver entries when a new delegation rule is added. As a result: Approval records created after a delegation rule is configured: the delegate is stamped into the record, and the Approve and Reject buttons are visible.Approval records created before a delegation rule is configured: the delegate is not stamped, and the buttons are not visible. To confirm granular delegation is applied correctly for a specific approval record, check the sys_granular_delegate_m2m table. Records created after a delegation rule was configured have an entry in this table. Records created before the rule was configured do not. If delegation must apply to existing approval records, manually update the affected sysapproval_approver records or re-trigger the approval workflow so that new records are generated and the delegation rule is evaluated at creation time.
