Empty values updated as 'NULL' string in encrypted fields during transform map operationsIssue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } When updating a table that contains encrypted fields using transform maps, fields with empty values in the staging table are written as the 'NULL' string in the target table's encrypted fields, while non-encrypted fields are updated correctly with empty values. This is expected; the default value was changed to false in Yokohama to enable updated encryption behavior. When this property was true (prior releases), scripts using setValue() or dot-walking assignments (for example, target.field = source.field) did not trigger encryption, even when the field had an Encrypted Field Configuration (EFC). This allowed data to be inserted without requiring encryption permissions. With the property set to false, these same script assignments attempt encryption. If the user running the transform does not have access to the crypto module, the encryption fails silently and can result in incorrect data, such as the 'NULL' string being inserted into the encrypted field, depending on how the transform script is written.
