How to route traffic to ServiceNow instances through AkamaiIssue Customer wants to restrict access to ServiceNow APIs on their instance using Akamai. They are using Akamai Application and API protector to protect their API's and want to route traffic to their ServiceNow instances through this service to control the sites customers are allowed to browse to and give visibility of any malicious activity by registered users of the platform, as well as adding additional DDoS mitigation to their instance. However, authentication is routed through Ping which is preventing them from using a custom URL to route the traffic through their Akamai instance. ReleaseThis is not specific to any releaseResolutionThe customer may create the CNAME to point to the service-now instance to create the certificate.Once it has been activated, change the CNAME to point to Akamai, the URL will continue to work. The problem is that when the time for certificate renewal comes, we will not be able to issue a certificate for it, and it will then fail.So we strongly recommend you do not make changes to the CNAME once the URL has been activated, as this is not how it is designed to work.
