This is the first stage before the December 2028 planned End of Life. EoR means that customers currently subscribing to Edge Encryption will not be able to continue using it once they renew their contract with ServiceNow. Customers on existing contracts are supported, but support is only to fix regressions to supported functionality or for security issues, not for product enhancements requests. We have ended all new innovation to Edge Encryption. The recommendation for anyone using Edge Encryption is to move to Platform Encryption. Platform Encryption is a bundle of two encryption products: Cloud Encryption and Field Encryption Enterprise. Please work with your ServiceNow Account Executive to understand your subscription options for moving from Edge Encryption to Platform Encryption. Technical Migration Path: Cloud Encryption should be evaluated first as a suitable alternative to Edge Encryption. Enable Field Encryption after Cloud Encryption if there are Field Encryption-specific requirements. Edge Encryption to Cloud Encryption: Enable Cloud Encryption for your instance(s) and then decrypt your Edge Encryption data. The process for enabling Cloud Encryption is described in KB1117369.Edge Encryption to Field Encryption: Use an auto-conversion process that was delivered in the Yokohama release to convert Edge Encrypted data to Field Encrypted data. The auto-conversion process is described in KB1832299. Note: Field Encryption and Cloud Encryption can be used in an instance together.
